1997 toyota avalon is having troubles when I put the keys in the ignition none of the lights turn on

My 1997 toyota avalon is having troubles when I put the keys in the ignition none of the lights turn on I thought maybe I left the door open and it died so I took it in to auto zone and got it charged and tested and nothing is wrong with it, when I put the battery back in and put the key in the ignition it still acts as if the battery isn't even in it not a single light turns on. Any thoughts?
