Is it worth the upgrade to the 2016 Honda Civic Touring? Well, you do get niceties like excellent LED headlights.

Yeah, the LED lights (plus standard Honda Sensing) are really excellent reasons to upgrade to the Touring. It should be noted that the standard headlights (like on my EX-T) are more than adequate. Well, we'll see what happens when driving home in pitch black when it gets dark early at night this winter...

Why are the foglights on in the first picture? I cannot see any fog. Are you sure it's just the effect of the headlights you are seeing or does some IQ Zero leave the fogs on continuously.

As mentioned in the article, you can only get the LED headlights on the Touring trim level, it is not even available as an option on the other trim levels. But the Touring is not available with a manual transmission so that means it will never make it onto my shopping list. Just because I prefer to shift my own gears doesn't mean I'm only interested in a stripped down base model. An automatic transmission is an automatic deal breaker for me, with the one exception being a Tesla but that doesn't actually have any gears.

And I agree with @agentorange, when you are making a post discussing how good the headlights are, you should shut the fog lights off and show us how much light the headlights put out by themselves. And yes, they are only meant to be used when it's foggy. If the light output is only good with both the headlights and the fog lights on, then the headlights aren't that good.

It is starting to seem to me like headlights have gotten so good that fog lights have less and less usefulness. Good modern headlights light up a wide section and both quite a ways into the distance and right up close to the car.
Most fog lights I've seen will add a little light in the couple of feet from where the headlights stop to the front of the car but in most cars you can't even really see that area. So aside from just slightly better lighting to the side close by they don't add much.
Given the color of the light on the garage door and the difference in color between the headlights and fog lights I'd say what you are seeing is just the headlights.

The color difference between the headlights and the fog lights leads to another fun, more recent development, people 'upgrade' the bulbs in the fog lights to incorrect but brighter ones that turn them into flood lights.
