BMW X5 Catching Fire

I had a 2014 BMW X5. Refer to pictures. This happened on Friday, November 11, 2016. I was driving and when stopped at a light, we noticed smoke and then realized our car was on fire. We all got out in time. Car was completely engulfed within seconds and eventually exploded twice. I spoke to insurance as well as BMW about it. Instead of connecting me to someone who might want to find out more about it or a technical person, they offered $3500 off the purchase of my next BMW from an outer tier customer service agent giving me a form letter style response. Wow. I'm still floored by this. I don't want it happening to anyone else.

    Whoa, glad you're safe! If you haven't already done so, be sure to file a report with the NHTSA.
