Shouldn't LA's heavier traffic improve the mileage due to regen helping top off the battery?

This is why a real spare (even a donut) is better than the lame solutions mfrs provide now.

The 12V battery and onboard charging module take up the space under the cargo floor normally occupied by a spare tire. Chevy sells a grossly overpriced spare tire kit. Instead, go on eBay and buy a $70-$125 donut spare from a 2011-15 Cruze, which perfectly fits the Volt hub. Buy a scissor jack and lay it in the jack cutout under the cargo floor. The donut I bought for my '17 Volt is wrapped in a Classic Accessories 21"-22" vinyl tire cover and sits on the cargo floor during my road trips.

Is there a way to secure the Cruze spare to the cargo floor?
