Lincoln MKT blown engine

I have a 2010 Lincoln Mkt with the 3.5L eco boost engine. Took it to a reputable mechanic and the engine is blown. It has 68000 miles and other than the engine, is in great shape. I still owe $9500.00 on it. I purchased it used from a dealer with about 45000 miles on it. Mechanic told me it would cost 8 - 9k to put is a remanufactured engine. Can't even find a used one from someone reputable. Is there any trade in value? Should I just fix the engine? I'm kind of lost here... thanks!
