Mitchell on Demand shows the location of the chime module as "Behind dash, left of steering column". Here are some assorted photos of Ford Chime modules from a Google search some in the installed location and others not.

You'll have to sort through them to see if any appear to be similar to your 90 Ranger since they are not in any particular order or limited to one style vehicle.
