Oil Pressure Bouncing Around

I have a 2005 GMC Envoy with 175K miles. The oil pressure dropped to 0 and the "STOP ENGINE" light came on. I pulled over checked the oil and it was good. When I got back into the truck the oil pressure was normal again. I done some research and everything pointed to the oil pressure sensor, I changed the sensor and on the first trip out the oil pressure started bouncing around again. Has anyone had this problem and what helped?

When I check my oil, I 1st pull out the dipstick, WIPE IT OFF, then stick it back in the tube. THEN I pull it out and check it. That way I don't get any false readings. How often do you change your oil? Oil is relatively cheap when compared to repair costs. I change my oil every 3000 miles, along with the filter. As for your problem, it sounds electrical to me. That Check Engine -Stop Engine light is what I call a "Dummy Light" (read into that "A light for dummies"). Sometimes it helps, but come on... really? So your Oil Press is On-again Off-again? Do you have a repair manual? Those books are really helpful. What I'm alluding to here is the fact your problem could be any number of a hundred different things. Get the manual. It will help you figure things out. Also, you could take the beast over to an Autozone, parts store that offers FREE code readings. Let them plug in their code reader gizmo, and it would help you zero in on what might be the problem. I also heard Jiffy Lube does that too. Wouldn't hurt.
