    You can ask the dealer to reprogram the DCT. Per hyundai-forums.com quite a few Hyundai Tucson, which also has same 7spd transmission, owners have got it done. I got it done on my Optima too. It feels just like an auto transmission now, making the ECO mode a pleasure to drive both in city traffic and on long open highway stretches. I rarely, if ever, come out of ECO mode as I'ven't felt the need to.

    So no need getting used to the hesitation!
