    Jeez- You should never be using cruise control in the rain anyway! It can cause the car to hydroplane much more easily and is very dangerous!

    Also- While many BMW/Mini systems use the camera mounted behind the rearview, the ACC on this car indeed has the block looking radar sensor in the lower grill. And that could have been gunked up with road grime and dirt causing it to not be effective enough. No need to have it serviced, just clean it per the owner's manual. Not rocket science.
