    "After about 30 minutes of max-volume performance, the sound cut out entirely"

    Why was it being played at max volume? If someone asked you to scream at the top of your lungs for 30 minutes, your voice would probably cut out entirely too.

    Because the stereo is weak. Even at full volume, it's not loud enough.
