STS navigation screen stuck between popup/on and retract/off position

I've searched high and low for answers to my problem. One day randomly, the nav screen wouldn't turn on or move to the on position when I entered and started my vehicle. I can hear the system try to move the screen (which happens about every 30 seconds) but obviously failing to do so. This happens whether the car is on or off. There's nothing on display and I can not listen to the radio or any music. Every time the system tries to move the screen there's audio static from the auxiliary cord, which I assume is because the system is trying to turn on. I can no longer leave the radio connected inside the car because it drains the battery during the night or while I'm at work resulting in me having to jumpstart my car EVERY TIME I turn it off. This is why I think it's stuck between positions, never fully powering off. You can physically move the screen back and forth so I don't believe there's anything blocking it. I'm looking for instructions or advice on how to fix my problem. I'd rather fix it myself if possible. I couldn't find information on how to take the system apart which would be useful. So if anyone knows the step by step disassembly process you rock! I believe it's a simple fix but I came here for your opinion and help. Please help, I'm desperate

Maybe try pulling the radio fuse for a minute to try and reset it?
