Car man - I'd like to lease a 2006 TL w/out Navigation. MSRP is 33,940 and capitalized cost is 28,500. Can you give me an idea of what some various residual values are for different terms/mileage 24-48 mos w/ 10K, 12K or 15K per year. Can you also confirm the money factor is .0028 (7%, yikes!)? I am trying to compute the best lease deal possible based upon rates available.
I went to a dealer in Pennsylvania, right outside Philadelphia. He quoted a monthly payment for a 36 month 12K mile lease at $439 a month plus tax with $3,000 down based off a price of $30,500. I am pretty sure I can get them down to $450 a month including tax but an unsure if this is a decent deal. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Per the Acura website, this car with destination and a couple of options, has an MSRP of $34,641. I'm in South Florida (Miami), and would like to know what it costs to lease, with no $ down. How much should I expect for amount financed? Money Factor? Residual? Total $ at start? Total monthly payment, with tax? Thanks!
If your $3000 down is truly all cap cost reduction, this would imply about a 45% residual value. If its really $2K cap cost reduction and $1K for first mo, bank fee, etc., then that would imply a 48% residual. Both sound too low for a 36mo/12K per year lease. I am waiting on Car_man to provide residuals on the 2006. If a 2007 42mo/10K per year has a 58% residual (confirmed), then a 2006 36/12K should be much higher than 45-48%.
I noticed today that acura announced the following lease:
FEATURED LEASE: Closed-end lease for 2007 TL Automatic Transmission (Model UA6627JW) for $399.00 per month for 42 months with a $1,705.00 capitalized cost reduction available to customers who qualify for the AHFC Super Preferred credit tier. Other rates/tiers are available under this offer. $2,699.00 total due at lease signing (includes first month's payment, AHFC upfront acquisition fee, capitalized cost reduction, security deposit. Security deposit waived in featured lease example. Total net capitalized cost and base monthly payment does not include tax, license, title, registration, documentation fees, options, insurance and the like). Not all buyers may qualify.
Is this a good lease option from your experience? To add navi to this offer the monthly would go up about $40.00. What if anything can be netgotiated on this. My car took a crash so I will be buying one in the next day or so. This is the 1st time I will be leasing.
The key items when leasing are the MSRP, Capitalized Cost (what you could buy the vehicle for), Lease Term, Residual Value and Money Factor (Interest rate divided by 24).
The 2007 TL deal being offered has a MSRP 34,295, capitalized cost of 30,700 (32,400 less 1,705 cap cost reduction), a residual value after 42 months of 58% and a money factor of .0028 (7%). My thoughts are that the residual value is okay but the money factor stinks. However, this is probably the best you are going to be able to do on a 2007 thru 11/30. December might bring a better deal, but then again it might not.
I'm personally trying to lease a 2006 TL. I've been quoted as low as 27,999 purchase price and am trying to negotiate a low lease payment off of that - I'm looking for less than 375/mo before tax w/ zero cap cost reduction. Awaiting Car_man's help on 2006 residuals. Car_man, where are you?
Hi all, has anyone recently leased a '07 TL Type-S in the Northeast? I'm in MA and was thinking of leasing sometime in Jan 07. I was wondering if anyone knew what the money factor and residual would be on 3 year 12k/yr.
i was informed about acura's new lease program today.i was quoted the following on a 2007 tl w/o nav,36mo,10k,1035 cap cost reduction,369.00 per month.cap cost is 32950.00,bank fee 595.00.this is the best offer i have received so far and i think i'll go for it.
I test drove 4 different cars today. BMW 328xi, Infiniti G35, Lexus IS 250 and Lexus TL. It's between the Beemer and Lexus but I'm leaning towards the Lexus b/c I really like it and it's less $$$. Want to know if I'm getting a good deal. Trade in my BMW 323i (year 2000/85K miles--excellent condition) They are giving me 7,700 for the car (I still owe 6500) so the equity is 1,100. So Trade in ($1,100) PLUS $2500 down would give me a monthly lease of $358/month for 36 months @ 15K miles per/year. No Navigation. Is this a competetive offer?
Congratulations on your new ride, jivaro. You were smart to take advantage of the fantastic lease program that Audi is running on the A4 right now. Enjoy!
Hi wbenedict. If you haven't leased your car yet you're in luck. Acura just enhanced its lease program on the 2007 model last week. It still doesn't have any lease support on the 2006 model though (it does have $2,000 dealer cash on the '06 TL). The '06 TL's current buy rate lease money factor for a 36 month lease is .00275. The 2007 model's money factor is a much more reasonable .00154. Even after the dealer cash is taken into account I suspect that it would be cheaper to lease a 2007 TL right now than it would be to lease a 2006 model.
Hi forte3880. You never mentioned the selling price or MSRP of the car that you are interested in leasing. These are important numbers for you as a consumer to know for two reasons. First, the selling prices of leased vehicles can be negotiated, just as if you were paying cash for them. Without knowing this car's selling price in relation to its MSRP you don't know how much of a discount you are getting on it. The second reason is that one needs the selling price and MSRP, including the destination charge, of a vehicle to calculate its lease payment. I would be more than happy to give you my opinion of this deal if you let me know what these numbers are.
Thanks for the additional information kenbgriffey. The dealer invoice price of a 2007 Acura TL with navigation is currently $33,624. If you are actually able to purchase this car for $32,660, you are getting it for $964 under invoice, which is an excellent deal. Just make sure that the dealer you are working with uses Honda Finance's new, enhanced buy rate lease money factor of .00154 (for "Super Preferred" tier customers who pay a security deposit at lease signing) to calculate your car's monthly payment and you're in business.
Hi keenerw. This car's lease payment will depend upon what sort of selling price you are able to negotiate on it. You should be able to get a good idea of how much you will have to pay for this car right now by visiting the following discussion and checking out how much others have paid: "Acura TL: Prices Paid & Buying Experience". Once you figure out how much you want to pay for this car, let me know and I can use Acura's current lease program to calculate what your monthly payment should be. Acura just enhanced this car's money factor from .00275 to .00154, so this is a great time to lease this car.
Hi lookingaround. Acura's lease program for this car wasn't attractive when you saw this ad, but it is much better now. Last week, Acura enhanced the 2007 TL's money factor from .00275 to .00154 (for "Super Preferred" tier customers who pay a security deposit). This enhancement dropped its advertised lease payment for this car from $399 per month for 42 months with $1,705 down to a much more reasonable $369 per month for 36 months with $1,035 down. The main thing that you need to focus on negotiating it your vehicle's selling price. Even though Acura's advertised lease payment for this car probably assumes some sort of dealer discount, in general manufacturers' advertised leases leave a little meat on the bone so to speak. Negotiate as low a selling price as possible on the car that you want and then have the dealer calculate its lease payment using he aforementioned special lease money factor.
Hi acurat. Please see my previous post for information on what Acura's new special lease on the 2007 TL is like. Let me know if you have any questions.
Hi maz41276. You're in luck, Acura just enhanced its lease program on the 2007 TL. I can give you an idea of what this car's current program is like. Honda Finance's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2007 Acura TL without navigation with 12,000 miles per year are .00154 and 61%, respectively.
Greetings mischh. You never mentioned the selling price or MSRP of the car that you are interested in leasing. These are important numbers for you as a consumer to know for two reasons. First, the selling prices of leased vehicles can be negotiated, just as if you were paying cash for them. Okay, so the Gross Capitgalized Cost is 33,104, Capitalized cost reduction 3166, adusted capitalized cost 29938, the residual value is 20234. the agreed upon value is 32509.75.
does all this make sense? i'm readin goff the lease agreement.
Oh and the purchase option at end of lease is 20234.
total base payments is 12486 for 36 months at 15miles/year. Oh and i did buy the autmatic starter for 500 bucks which is included in my monthly lease payments. do you recommend getting the tire insurance for 199?
My wife is going to lease a 2007 TL, automatic w/o navigation. This does not need to be done until Feb. when her currect lease expires and unfortunately, we will probably turn her car in as the turn her car in as the trade value is about $2500 less than her current payoff. It would be nice to trade and reap the sales tax advantage, but that probably isn't in the cards.
The current lease deal looks good, so we may go ahead and jump on that. There will not be any credit issues, so we should be in the super preferred tier. I know a security deposit is listed as required, but is it really? If we get the price we want and tell them it's a deal if the deposit is waived are we barking up the wrong tree?
Hi Car_man, I have checked special offers by Acura dealers in Columbus, Ohio. The only string attached to an offer of $369 per month for 36 months and the down payment you have mentioned, is that it is for TL without Navi, and only 10,000 miles per year. Once you add a Navi and at least 12,000 miles, the price will jump quite a bit. I am not sure if the dealer will provide the same money factor for 12,000 miles or 15,000 miles. In my opinion, 10,000 miles offer is good for people who did not drive much.
No problem, mischh. I see that you are considering making a $3,166 capitalized cost reduction on this car. It is in your best interest not to make any cap cost reduction when leasing. Consumers who make them risk losing their money if their vehicle is totaled in an accident or stolen and never recovered. Even though your car's monthly payment will be higher, you will be better off leasing it without any down payment.
Let's take a look at the selling price that you were quoted. The MSRP of a base 2007 Acura TL is $34,295. You were offered this car for $33,104, which amounts to a $1,191 discount or around $1,750 over dealer invoice. This is a decent amount of room to play with. If you have any other Acura dealers in your area, it wouldn't hurt to comparison shop to see if you can get another couple hundred dollars off of this car. When you arrive at a selling price that you are comfortable with make sure to have the dealer calculate your car's monthly payment using Acura's new .00154 money factor.
Hi emmagee. Security deposits are charges by the banks that lease vehicles and individual dealers do not have the authority to waive them. Having said this, most banks will waive their security deposit requirement for returning lessees. I believe that this is the case with Acura as well. Since you are a current TL lessee you probably will not have to pay a security deposit if you lease another one.
Hey aries1. Most manufacturers' advertised lease payments are based upon low mileage allowances like 12,000 or 10,000 miles per year. Automakers base their vehicles' payments on these allowances to make their monthly payments more attractive. You will still be able to use the same attractive money factor to calculate your car's monthly payment if you change the mileage allowance to 12,000 or 15,000 miles per year. Raising the number of miles will lower your car's residual value though and increase its monthly payment a little.
Anyone who's already got the TL-S can help me here? "...LED instrumentation glows red and blue..." Can you changem to either red or blue, or are they talking about the combination of lights like on most pictures?
Where are you getting the great lease deal of $369 per month for 36 months with $1,035 down?
I'm in Miami, and the best I have found is $369 per month fo r36 months but with $1,999 down for a TL 2007? This is from Acura's own website....where you print an offer certificate and take it to the dealer. The offer expires Jan 2, 2007.
Any advice would be helpful! I am currently leasing a 2003 which I have to return next month.
leased 07 tl auto w/o nav.acura has a great program.i'm glad i waited.paid 2300 out of pocket(incl cap cost reduction of 1035.00,1st month, 595.00 bank fee plus n.y.s. rip off taxes).399 per month,36 mos,10k per year.i even got wheel locks without asking.very pleased with the deal and the car.
Hi donnisb. The $369 per month lease that I mentioned earlier is Acura's new nationally advertised lease for the 2007 TL. The details of this offer are available on acura.com under the "Drive Home for the Holidays" sales event link. It is available through January 2nd. The offer required $1,999 at lease signing, but only $1,035 of that is a down payment, $369 is the car's first month's payment which must be paid at lease signing and $595 of it is Honda Finance's required acquisition fee.
Hey mixa. I would be more than happy to work up a sample lease payment on the car that you are interested in for you if you let me know what these numbers are.
Congratulations on your new car, tomtrav1. You were lucky that you waited long enough to take advantage of the new special program. Thanks for taking the time to share the details of your deal. Enjoy your new ride !
Just got a lease on the Type-S with purchase price of $36,518 at Glendale, CA. I know it's far from the best deal, but it was a no hassle internet match.
Hi everyone. I'm new to the forums, although I have been reading posts for about a year - all have been very informative.
I'm (actually my company is) looking to lease a new TL. This will be the company's first lease (after many years of purchasing vehicles). I will be looking for a 48 month lease with 15,000 miles per year. My questions are: What is the current money factor? I've seen the special rate of 0.00154 posted here - is there a time frame for this offer? What are typical residual values for this type of lease (for both the base model and the Navi)? What is the typical over mileage cost? Are there regional differences to what is offered? I am in the Chicago area. I've already gotten great price quotes and hopefully will be dealing in the next few weeks.
HI, I just received a quote from dealer of 35,200 on 07 TL/S plus tax and title. I would like to know what the current M/F and residual % is so i can calculate lease payment ahead of time. MSRP is 38,795.00 .
I have an 04 TL and the lease will be up soon. The car is probably worth a couple thousand more than the residual. If I buy it at lease end, will Acura title it to someone else if I sell it or do I have to buy, title it and then sell it?
Beware, money factor almost doubles for leases over 36 months.

After my post, I did hear about the 0.00137 money factor on the 36 month leases. It is my understanding that it is valid through the end of January. Can anyone confirm this?
Also - Is it possible to negotiate the residual value or is it as defined as above. My quotes to date represent the residual values stated here.
I have a quote for $528/mo on a 2007 TL w/ Navi, 36 month, 15K per year with $0 down payment. Cash outlay would be 1st month's payment and my tags ($143). This is based on a sale price of $33,823 ($200 over invoice) and Illinois taxes.
I am new to the buying/leasing auto thing. I saw the incentive from the website which looks attractive. I am about to request a quote from the dealer. And I wonder what's the next step. How can I negotiate? Do I test drive before I negotiate? Or just send email/call the dealers to see if they can lower the price first? Thanks!

Thanks for your help.
I had a close call with an 06 RL but kept my head and my beautiful 04 TL non-navi. Looking to upgrade to real-time traffic.
What's Acura offering this month? Thanks!
Thanks!
Want to know if I'm getting a good deal.
Trade in my BMW 323i (year 2000/85K miles--excellent condition)
They are giving me 7,700 for the car (I still owe 6500) so the equity is 1,100.
So Trade in ($1,100) PLUS $2500 down would give me a monthly lease of $358/month for 36 months @ 15K miles per/year. No Navigation. Is this a competetive offer?

What's the 48mo mf?
Do you happened to know the residual for the TL-S ?
Same 36mo - 12k, and if MF for 48mo is good, for 48/12 as well.
Thanks!

I am new to leasing. Trying to get a deal on a 2007 TL w/NAV (non-Type S) in the NYC area.
24month, 10k miles
want to pay 1500 out of pocket, and have monthly payments of $500. (all taxes included).
Is this a reasonable deal, dealerships are quoting $530 for 2yrs.
thanks all....

After my post, I did hear about the 0.00137 money factor on the 36 month leases. It is my understanding that it is valid through the end of January. Can anyone confirm this?
Also - Is it possible to negotiate the residual value or is it as defined as above. My quotes to date represent the residual values stated here.
Thanks!
