Engine falters while driving

My 2005 V70 engine seems to falter when accelerating or just driving a normal speeds. It is as if it may want to stall. It just received a 'perfect' checkup at a Volvo shop. It has 214000 miles. Could it be the fuel filter needs changing? The transmission fluid was drained and changed at the last checkup.
