1998 Honda Passport engine swap

Bought a 1998 Honda 3.2 litre 6vdi motor for my 1998 Honda passport. On the block on the passenger side it says "6vdi", on the drivers side it says "Isuzu".
Upon installing the timing belt I noticed there is too much slack on the belt between the cam pulleys. Upon closer inspection, the original block is 1/4" taller at the head surface than the "Isuzu" block. How can this be? I researched websites to see if there is a difference in the timing belt tooth count and can only find 191 (original belt) and ones over 200 count. I need one with less teeth.

Any suggestions???
