2007 Toyota Camry Traction Control

So, I have a 2007 toyota camry le with a 3.5L V6. I'm having an issue with the traction control. Specifically, it's not working. There are no indicator lights, however I know it's not working, because when the ground is wet, and I press the gas (even slightly, I mean extremely slightly), the tires are liable to start spinning and slipping on the pavement. I'm trying to figure out why the traction control isn't kicking in to stop my tires from spinning, and maybe if there might be some things I can check before taking it in to have it looked at. Neither the traction control or ASC light come on, yet the tires will spin hard at the slightest press of the gas pedal if the pavement is wet.
