Truck drives slow

I just brought a 1996 Chevy s10 pickup truck 2.2 l 2x4. The truck moves when it cold but after a few minutes of warming up it drives very slow like a snail.

    I think it transmission because it doesn't shift gear just rolls slow as I give it gas

    Is it a lack of engine power, or do you think it's a transmission issue? Is it getting stuck in a lower gear?
