    Car Man,

I have a 2012 ML350 on order that is due to arrive at dealer this week. Are you sure the conquest is 4K and not 2K on the 2012 ML. Thanks for your help!!
  • storm10storm10 Member Posts: 268
    Conquest is $2,000...
  • marc68marc68 Member Posts: 69
    Car man,

Thanks for clearing up the conquest amount. One last question: What is the residual percentage for 24 months and 30 months with 15K miles per year?

    Hi chasieboy1
What is the city and dealer you are buying from, your selling price looks very competitive.
  • chasieboy1chasieboy1 Member Posts: 6
Marin City in Bay Area CA...just search that dealership in that city..im not sure if im allowed to share here the dealership name..
  • rayceeraycee Member Posts: 10
    Hi chasieboy1

It states you can include the dealership name and city. This seems too good to be true if it's a 2012 and not a 2011 as nobody who has quoted me has even come close to your quote of
$2,000 drive-offs with $610 per month including tax. I did contact a dealer up there at RAB Motors and they said it must have been for a 2011 b/c no way they could even come close.

    Thanks for your help!

I am in the market for a 2012 ml350 P1 packaging only, here in California w/ ~8.25% tax
Dealer tells me that their best Residual is 61% and MF is .00242 for a 36 month 12k.
Selling price is 49400 includes conquest ($2000 off). Out of the door down payment $5000.
Proposed payment is $650/month, which to me is way too high. Using the lease calculators, seems like I should be paying ~$590 no?
Also these residuals and MF seem way off from what Carman was suggesting (~62%-MF .00195).
    Any feedback please!

How do we find out whether the 2012 M-class has $2,000 or $4,000 conquest cash?

    Also - what are the Oct rates for 10k and 36 months on a 2012 M-class 4matic?
  • dealguy1dealguy1 Member Posts: 2
The conquest deal for the 2012 ML350 is definitely $2000 only.
I checked with a couple of dealers yesterday.
  • CarMan@EdmundsCarMan@Edmunds Member Posts: 38,514
You are correct, Rob. The residual values on the 2012 BlueTec are indeed 1% lower than the 4Matic.

Hi 12vman. Mercedes-Benz Finance's October buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 48-month lease of a 2012 ML350 4Matic with 15,000 miles per year are .00195 and 55%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier.

The residual value for a lease with only 12,000 miles per year would be 2% higher.

You're absolutely right, marc68. The conquest cash is $2,000 on all 2012 models. It's $4,000 on the 2011 ML.

    Hey marc68. Mercedes-Benz Finance's October residual value for a 24-month lease of a 2012 ML 350 BlueTec with 15,000 miles per year is 68%.

The residual value for an otherwise identical 30-month lease of this truck is 64%.

This is absolutely impossible! BlueTec residuals have to be higher than regular ML350 4Matic. Especially, the longer you go there should be significantly higher residual for BlueTec Diesel.

I think posted above residuals for ML350 4Matic is actually for ML350 BlueTec. I can bet on it...

I forgot to mention the configuration. Here is the configuration:

P1 package + Driver Assistance package + Heated steering wheel + Parktronic. Here is the best quote I have:

Selling price: 52200 with $2000 conquest included.
    mf: 1.95
    resdual: 62%
    monthly: 630$
state tax + first month + fees: ~3800$

    Car_Man,

I got a quote for a 2012 ML350 4matic 36 month lease, 15K miles and they quoted the residual value as 59% not 60%. Can you confirm that the 4matic residual is 60% and not 59%.

Thanks, I would i to buy a car tomorrow so hopefully you reply today!

    Rob
  • 12vman12vman Member Posts: 9
Fwiw, I am being quoted 59%, too. Also, Car_Man said 55% for 48 months (which would be a screaming deal), but I'm being told 47% which makes more sense.
  • jjrnjjjrnj Member Posts: 13
Wanted to get feedback on this deal. Its an executive demo with 9k miles

    2011 ML 350 4 Matic

    P1 Package with Nav
    Palladium Grey
    Heated steering and seats
    prewire rear ent
    chrome running boards
    mbtex
    ipod integration
    wood dashboard
    trailer hitch
    prepaid service for 40,000 miles

    Sticker price was $56,970
    Sell price- 45k

Money factor is .00022 so thats really good. Have 5 payments left on my bmw so I have that to deal with if I want to factor it into the lease.

    What do you think?

    Obviously everything is under warranty

Please post the mf and residuals for the gas and diesel versions of the 2012 ML350.

So it ends up being $464/month, 33 month, 12k year lease with about 4k out of pocket (2k of a cap reduction/ the rest is 1st month, bank fee, title, etc)

    what do you think?
  • dewarsandsodadewarsandsoda Member Posts: 214
    Hi jjmj,
My two rupees on the key variables for lease calculation along with some questions.

    1. Sales price = ~$12K off list. Does this include conquest, usaa, or other incentives/rebates? Given that the 2012's are now available, you may be able to push for more off of list (~$13-15K, perhaps)
    2. Residual Value. What's the RV for the lease?
    3. MF. Have you considered multiple security deposits (MSD)? MB Financial will allow you up to 10 security deposits and each represents a 0.00007 reduction in MF. Coupled with autopay, this would be = 0.0008, so your MF = 0.0022-0.0008 = 0.00140. That's ~1.92% savings in interest charges, and you get the MSD back at the end of the lease term.
    4. Upfront payment. I would only pay 1st month's payment and DMV fees. Tell the dealer $0 down (i.e., no cap cost reduction).
    5. BMW lease. Is the dealer paying for your last 5 lease payments? If so, maybe you should push for only $13.5K off list per #1 above.

Again, my two rupees as only you can decide if the deal is fair.

    Cheers!

    Car Man,

    I'm in the market to lease a 2012 ML350 Bluetec. 36 months - 15K mile

Can you tell me the Money Factor & Residual Value for the month of November?

    TIA
  • jjrnjjjrnj Member Posts: 13
Yes it did include conquest (which is not available for 2011 models in november programs now from what I know. This deal was dated oct 31) so I though 12.5k off list was a fair price.

The MF was actually .00022 or 0.528% (only about $500 of interest for the whole lease). I don't think MSDs would work too well with this or putting 3 Sec Deposits save me $500 of interest or around $15/month?
  • dewarsandsodadewarsandsoda Member Posts: 214
My apologies, jjrnj, as my eyesight is obviously going as I didn't see that the extra zero in the MF. As a result, I agree that 0.00022 is quite good as your subsequent interest charges in the monthly lease will be quite low. MSD is likely not an option.

    Cheers!

Hello Carman.... I'm in the market for a new vehicle and the ML350 4Matic is on the list. Let's hope there's enough support from MB to make the lease attractive. Could you please provide me the residual and MF for a 12K 36month lease. I am aware of the conquest discount of $2000, but if you know of any other discounts it would be greatly appreciated. I am in NJ and find most dealers here are not that eager to discount prices as they think someone will eventually pay the prices. Thanks!
  • CarMan@EdmundsCarMan@Edmunds Member Posts: 38,514
Hi Kirill. According to the latest information that I have seen, Mercedes-Benz Financial's November buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2012 ML350 4Matic with 15,000 miles per year are .00155 and 57%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier.

The numbers for an otherwise identical lease of a diesel model are .00225 and 60% forTier 1 customers.

    Car_Man,

Thanks for all of the great posts!
I am deciding on whether to buy or lease on a 2012 ML350
    My deal:
    MSRP: $56465
negoiated price $50,626 (includes a $3K fleet cert.)
Would take the 1.9% 66mo. financing and the $1500 toward payments OR was looking at 36mo. @15K/yr and was quoted money factor of .00155 and residual of only 57%..
I've read money factors as low as .00121 and residuals of 60% (WHATS THE REAL #'s ?)

The other thing is that a knowledgable person like you on a differnt site mentioned that there is a special 33mo lease deal available to dealers with better than .00155 and 57%.
Could you tell me what you know about this?

Thanks from all of us hard working people wanting to get a fair deal!
  • gobigbluekugobigblueku Member Posts: 2
FYI- My dealer said the residual on diesel was 59%...? Not sure if he was trying to justify me questioning the 57% residual on the gas..

I don't believe that Mercedes is currently providing any other cash incentives on leases of this truck that can be used in addition to the conquest cash.

You're very welcome gobigblueku. Mercedes-Benz Financial's current buy rate for a 36-month lease of a ML350 4Matic is indeed .00155. The dealer that you're working with is not marking your vehicle's factor up. You can do a little better leasing for 33 months though because I believe that Mercedes-Benz is allowing lessees to use its 30-month residuals for 33-month terms. If that is indeed the case, the resid for a 15k lease would be 62%.

Welcome suv350. Since you are new to leasing, you definitely should check out the following informative articles on the subject that are available here at Edmunds.com: 10 Steps to Leasing a New Car and Calculate Your Own Lease Payment.

In short, the easiest way to get a good deal on a leased vehicle is to shop around for the lowest possible selling price and then have the dealer that you decide to go with calculate your vehicle's monthly payment using its buy rate lease money factor.

    Hi CarMan,

What is the residual and lease rate for 2012 ML Bluetec with Prem 1 and 2 package which has about 61400 usd. for 30 or 33 months 12000 miles a year?

And also do they have any incentives for December or Christmas. I am planning to get one next week, the one that i ordered. Should I wait till the end of the year?

What is the best amount to to negotiate for this car 54K maybe?

    Thanks

    MSRP 58589

    Down : 335

    Out of pocket : 2513

    36 month /12000 miles

    $675 / month

Is is okay or do should i try to bring it down further.

    Thanks

Thanks for the info. Couple questions for clarification:

Is your monthly lease payment of $675 including tax?
Is total out of pocket including down $2,850?

I just got back from the local MB dealer with the following offer on an ML350 with package 1:

    MSRP: $54,025
Selling Price: $48,980 (I think this included the $1,095 acquisition fee)
    MF: 0.00182 (approved for top-tier)
    Term: 30-month, 10K/year
Money down: $0 (other than 1st month payment)
Monthly payment before taxes: $1131.11 first month, $615.19 thereafter
RV: I think they said it was 65% after 30 months

It looks to me like a good lease offer with about 6K off of the sticker price. Is it? I'm going back this weekend to seal the deal. However, I'm unable to calculate this monthly payment using the lease formula. I'm getting higher numbers. I was amazed at the effort I needed to get an actual offer from two separate dealerships. One played the "dumb" salesman, who quickly lost my interest and made me soon after the test drive, and the other gave me numbers up front without a credit application.

  • v70r_07v70r_07 Member Posts: 13
    youn0813,

What else does that selling price include?

Do you have conquest or fleet incentive?
  • youn0813youn0813 Member Posts: 28
I didn't get to have Conquest (I'm eligible) or the fleet incentive (doesn't apply to me). They have a $2K winter event incentive that is mutually exclusive with Conquest and fleet incentives, so we used this $2K discount. I believe it is also a manufacturer discount. The additional discounts are from the dealership.

Do you think this is a good deal? Let me know if you have any other questions.

I need to make a correction to my original post:
I went to two separate dealership. The first one is where the salesman played dumb. The second dealership I went to was great, and the quote is from them.
  • deenxdeenx Member Posts: 125
That's a heck of a lot better than what I was offered here in central NJ this past weekend. I guess they are not that eager to give the discounts this early in the month. Have to check the BMW dealer now....argh

Hello temiz. Mercedes-Benz Financial's December buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 30-month lease of a 2012 ML Bluetec with 12,000 miles per year are .00225 and 62%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its Tier 1 credit tier.

Most likely, the later in the year you buy the better at least in terms of being in a strong bargaining position with dealers. I don't believe that Mercedes has made any enhancements to it already super-aggressive November incentives for December.

I'm not familiar with what the market is like for this truck in your area right now, but if I was in the market for one I definitely would shoot for a selling price of below dealer invoice.

Car_Man.... trying one more time to get a fair lease deal. Could you please provide me the residual and money factor for a 2012 ML350 for 15K miles/year and 30 and 36 months.

My dealer told me I qualified for conquest and winter event discounts so if you know those I'd appreciate those numbers too.

Thanks so much for continuing to help the public in these forums!

    Hi Car Man,

For 2012 Bluetec ML , MSRP 61400, SoCal dealer
    30 months 12000 miles

They offered %67 residual standard 0.00225(5.4 apr)
600 a month and 5000 drive off. Sales price was not consistent but he was talking about 54k

I feel like it is too much and does not reflect the sale price.

Can you please confirm that the residual is right?
For December I guess you informed us that it was %62 for 30 months 12K mile/year for BT
and what is it for 36 months 12k miles?

I feel like the offer i got is too high and planning not to get the car. What do you think?

This seems to be a good deal, especially if this is what they offered you first with minimal negotiation.

If the Acquisition Fee is indeed included in the $48,980 selling price, then the selling price looks excellent, roughly $750-1000 below invoice before the $2,000 rebate.

The acquisition fee is marked up $300 (standard fee is $795). Also, it looks like the money factor is marked up slightly (lowest rate should be .00155).

There might be some room to negoitiate the above down some, but the dealer is giving you an aggressive sale price so they might not be willing to do so.

What is included in the $1,100 or so that is the first payment? DOC Fee, License Fee?
  • v70r_07v70r_07 Member Posts: 13
    temiz,

Does that $600 payment include tax?

What is the Acquisition fee they are charging?

How much of that $5,000 due at signing is cap cost reduction?

Based on your numbers, that payment seems about right.

The .00225 mf equates to roughly $229 of interest per month.

Picking up 2012 ML 350 SUV with P1 package.

$1700 due at pickup (includes 1st month, all fees)
$580 per month (includes State tax)
    10K miles, 30 months.

I think MSRP was around $54800.
  • rayceeraycee Member Posts: 10
This sounds like a great deal with total drive-offs of $1,700 and monthly payment including tax at $580.
Can you please share with us which dealer and location.

    Thanks for sharing.
