1998 Blazer - Why is there a scraping noise only when I turn right?

I own a 98 Chevy Blazer and i have an issue where there is a light scraping sound when turning right. It sounds like it's on the front left, though. If I make a quick jerk of the wheel to the right it will also scrape but stops after just a few moments. It sounds like it could be a backing plate as it sounds like a light skimming as opposed to a heavy griding noise. I did however check the back plates on both sides and it doesn't seem like there is any rubbing against the rotor . I don't think it's a major problem and i think it could be an easy fix. I just can't figure out where the noise is coming from. It also sounds awful.
