2005 SRX loss of acceleration

all of sudden without notice i will lose acceleration, rpm will go up. ill pull and turn car off, when i start back up i will be good for a minute or so. then the same problem will occur.. i took the car to a dealer and they said the converter was not engaging.. and that i needed another transmition, went to another garage and had the transmission replaced under 500 miles later the same problem is occurred.. took it back to where i had transmission replaced and was told he had a code come up about the converter. went to a garage to him what they said and was told i needed 2 sensors $500 later and another 150 miles the problem is back.
please help
