The picture was taken in the late 1930s in Germany, can someone please identify this car?

I think this is a Ford (Germany) V8, ca. 1938-39. These Fords were somewhat similar to but completely different from American Fords. This would have been a higher model compared to the more commonly seen Eifel or Taunus.

That's the one. Relatively posh car for Europe on the brink of war. Low survival rate too.

Bingo. Here's an image from the brochure. Hood ornament, that rear window, and the ornament on the rear wheel skirt look like good matches
