2004 Chrysler Sebring GTC high beam indicator stays on.
Put higher output dual beam headlight bulbs in and blew the left low beam fuse, replaced fuse and put old bulbs back in. Low beams and high beams work but the high beam indicator is on no matter what beam is actually in use.

The high beam indicator is directly controlled by the instrument cluster when it receives a command to turn it on by the body computer. To diagnose what is causing the indicator to falsely be on you will need a scan tool that can access both the BCM (body computer) and IPC (instrument cluster) and it will have to be able to display input data, output data, and perform bi-directional commands with both modules. One of the tests would be to take direct control of the indicator and command it on and off. If it follows the scan tool commands then that means the instrument cluster is being told to turn it on and testing would need to be done to prove why. If it cannot be controlled then it becomes likely that the cluster itself has failed.5
