Just took delivery of a 2012 IS350 with the F-Sport package and Navigation, no accessories installed. Sticker was $45,810. Leased it for 48 months/15k miles with $4k down and $588/month. Payments are high because of my credit problems. Lexus is running a promotion, where they make the first payment. I made them throw in the rear bumper applique and a keychain. Color was Nebula Gray Metallic. Spent 5 hours at the dealer (Longo Lexus in So Cal. Excellent dealer). Car is worth $21068 at the end of the lease. :)

    Hi Fkong,

i was wondering how bad or good is your credit? i myself to have credit problem and i would love to get myself one of these lexus is250 or 350. also is this longo lexus located in El monte? thanks
  • fkongfkong Member Posts: 11
    Hello jphu1223,

Due to some bad investments, my credit was, literally, beyond hideous. I actually need a relative to co-sign with me to get it at that price. Just by own credit, I would have to pay almost $1k/month on the lease.

And yes, this is Longo Lexus at El Monte. They only had 2 IS350 w/ the F-Sport package. IS250, they have boatloads. :)

I was wondering if this deal is one not to miss, the salesman at Lexus of Kendall wasnt very detailed on the numbers, but this is their offer.
trading in my 2010 is250 loaded payoff $27k
    2012 IS250 F-sport no nav
    $39,283
    $3000 off
    $1000 out of pocket
    36/10k
    $455 a month

is this an agressive deal? ive been back and forth and they say this is the best they can do not a penny less.
thanks in advance for your opinions.

Looking to lease 2012 is250 base model, 15,000 miles, excellent credit, 36 months, 0 money down (just 1st money and tag and title)....best price I got so far is 424 a month including tax? Wanted to know if its a good deal or can I find something lower? what am I looking for as far as residual and money factor right now?
  • e350fane350fan Member Posts: 4
I am getting a 2012 IS 250 Auto, with premium package, cargo mat and wheel locks, no navi at:

    Vehicle Base Model $34,765.00
    Options $777.00
    Delivery Processing & Handling $875.00
    Total: $36,417.00
Negotiated Price: $31, 235.00 (includes Delivery and Options) plus TTL
The dealer will use 2 Lexus certificates each $500.00

    Questions:
    - How do I calculate how much the dealer hold back is?
    - What is the true dealer invoice? i.e. the price the dealer paid the manufacturer.
    - Is there a limit on how many certificates a dealer can use?

    Thanks for your help

Hi coolbiz. According to the latest information that I have seen, Lexus Financial Services' December buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2012 IS 350 Sedan with 15,000 miles per year are .00150 and 60%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top aka "Tier 1+" credit tier.

    Car Man,

Are the december MF and residual values the same for the IS250? What are the residual values for 15k miles vs 12k miles?

Davenotize= I was wondering how you made out. Im in the process of buying one and would like to know how you made out.

I was wondering if this deal is to good to pass up.
    2012 IS250 F-sport No Navigation
    $39,283
    $3539 off
    1.9 APR

Can I get the price down anymore? They said this is invoice and they cant go any lower. Should I be happy with this. If so I will buy it =)

Hi a4sf. Lexus Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2012 IS 250 RWD with 15,000 miles per year are .00150 and 59%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top aka Tier 1+ credit tier.

The residual values for a lease with only 12,000 miles per year would be 2% higher.

Hey todd, if you are getting $3,539 off means your selling price is $35,733. according to truecar a great price would be 36,950. i personally think youre getting a good deal are you leasing or buying, i highly suggest not putting more than the taxes and first month. they took my previous lexus no upside down or anything, i didnt make that months payment on the lexus i was trading and received $200 back from dmv since i have tags, so i ended up paying no more than $400 in reality.
***People dont be fooled, please do you research and take as much time as you may need to negociate, at the end you name your price*****

Car_man, what is the residual and MF on the IS250C? 10,000 and 12,000 miles please for 36 months. (I had Top Tier+ on my first Lexus but had a credit issue recently on a medical bill -- I paid in full after it mistakenly went to collections, I hope this doesn't affect me!)

My lease is about up on my 2009 IS250 and I'm beginning to think I won't get anywhere near as amazing of a deal on a new ISC as I did on my IS when I got it.

Has anyone here leased or bought an ISC lately? I need some prices to compare to/negotiate with. Thanks!

Hi greeneyespsu. Lexus Financial Services' January buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2012 IS 250 Convertible with 12,000 miles per year are .00150 and 62%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its Tier 1+ credit tier.

The residual value for a lease with only 10,000 miles per year would be 1% higher.

Looking for a 36 mo lease on a new IS 250 RWD with premium package, navigation/camera, and possibly HID, 10k miles. We will be trading in a 94 civic ex, with a KBB trade in value of about $5500 though the car has been in a minor accident.

First stop by the dealership resulted in the initial preliminary offer of $41091 sale price, $3k trade in value, $499 a month including taxes.

Can anyone advise regarding current lease terms (assuming top tier approval) and what might be a good target price? I am thinking asking them to up the trade in value closer to $4k, with a sale price target of about $37k, which (using MF=0.0015 and residual 60%) would make our payments about $425 including 7.75% taxes.

    Hey everyone,

My wife and I are looking for an IS250C, and I see the 36 mo #'s above, but was wondering how they differed for 48 month lease deals. We'd be looking at 10k & 12k miles/year. Lastly--any idea what credit score Lexus uses to qualify a buyer/lessor to their Top Tier+?

    Thanks!
  • CarMan@EdmundsCarMan@Edmunds Member Posts: 38,514
Hi mgchan. The IS Sedan's lease program varies by region. If you tell us what state you are in we can give you an idea of what this car's current lease program is like.

Hey club619. Lexus Financial Services' February buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 48-month lease of a 2012 IS 250 Convertible with an automatic transmission and 12,000 miles per year are .00150 and 51%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top aka "Tier 1+" credit tier.

The residual value for a lease with only 10,000 miles per year would be 1% higher.

I'm not positive, but I think that the cutoff for the Tier 1+ credit tier is 710.

Thanks Car_man! We're looking at about 6 different vehicles right now to narrow down our decision when our current 08 Jetta lease expires this summer. The residual's on the Lexus REALLY make a difference when comparing monthly payments vs other's that have much lower residual's. And thanks for the credit score #...when they say Tier 1+ I was thinking something much closer to 800 or above.

Looks like we'll be leaning towards the 36 mo w/ either 10k or 12k/year.

Having never looked at purchasing/leasing a lexus before, do they have a list of companies that they offer discounts to, like the GM supplier program I've used in the past?

    Thanks again!

    Hi Car_man,

We are looking in the southern California area, most likely San Diego.

    Thanks!
  • club619club619 Member Posts: 122
One other question--are there lease terms shorter than 36 months available from Lexus? 24 or 30 month? If so, do you have those #'s for the IS250C?
  • CarMan@EdmundsCarMan@Edmunds Member Posts: 38,514
    You're very welcome club619.

I'm not very familiar with Lexus' supplier purchase program, but I don't think that it's nearly as large or aggressive as General Motors' program.

Hi mgchan. I believe that the .00150 money factor that you were quoted is about right for a 36-month lease of this car in your area.

Hey club619. Yes, Lexus does have special lease rates for both 24 and 30 month terms.

Lexus Financial Services' February buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 24-month lease of a 2012 IS 250 Convertible with 15,000 miles per year are .00150 and 70%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top aka Tier 1+ credit tier.

The numbers for an otherwise identical 30-month lease are .00150 and 65%.

How are you? What is the tax incentive? I live in TX
for a 38K lexus IS250 - 36 mos /10K - the quote was $533 a month no money down first month payment. I have not calculate based on money factor and residual etc but wondering what is the tax incentive?
Tax in TX is high. Unlike other states - we have to pay the value of the car
    Same 38K C250 - 33 months lease will be $575
  • CarMan@EdmundsCarMan@Edmunds Member Posts: 38,514
You are correct, club619. LFS' 12,000 mile per year residual values are 2% higher than its 15,000 mile pr year resids.

I'm doing very well thank you tleco. I am not from Texas, so I don't know all of the particulars, but I have heard that some manufacturers have some sort of incentive that they can use to offset the high sales tax that is charges on leases there.

Hi Car_Man and other forum members,

I am looking at leasing a 2012 Lexus IS 250 AWD with the Navigation pkg which comes out to MSRP of $42,800. I am looking to at a lease of 36 months and 15k miles per year. I am looking to put $0 down besides paying the first months payment and std. upfront lease fees. I qualified for the education incentive program that they currently are offering. Are there any other incentives going on or cap costs reductions that I should mention when trying to get a better price if I indeed can do better? I have above 730 credit as well.

I was quoted by the dealer today that with my specifications above, I can lease the car for $0 down for $450 / month which includes taxes. Is this a good deal. This is my first car that I will be leasing and I am new to negotiating the best price. Could I please get your suggestion on
1.) is this a good price,
2.) how can I negotiate a better price, 3.) what should price is a fair price
4.) how do bring the dealer down to this price besides just stating my requirements.

I have read a little about how I am supposed to negotiate the sticker price and go into trying to lower the price as if I am going to buy the car.

    Thanks!
  • carhelp88carhelp88 Member Posts: 8
Also I will follow up and ask the salesman what the price he is currently selling me the car at is. But if anyone could estimate if the $450 /m is good for 36 months 15k per I'd appreciate it.
  • roushyboyroushyboy Member Posts: 11
Sounds like a really decent deal. I would definitely ask for selling price and residual amount though. If you want, you can take this number to another dealer and politely ask if he can do any better - you don't have to be stupidly upfront saying "beat 450".. butter him up a bit..inform him you can buy it immediately if he gets you a better car (I wouldn't really say better deal) and you should get somewhere in the 430 range which for a $42k car with 0 down will be a damn good deal...

    Hi Everyone / Carman,

Today I got my new 2012 Lexus IS 250 AWD! - AWD, LUXURY PLUS VALUE EDITION, NAVIGATION, BACKUP CAM, HEAT & VENT SEATS, 17 WHEELS, REAR SUNSHADE, RAIN-SENSING WIPERS, PAINT PROTECTION FILM

Here is what my lease is
    36 months
    15,000 miles per year
    Residual: 59%
    MF: .0014

    MSRP: $43,441
    Sale Price: $39,876

    Monthly Payment:

    $465 Month including tax

Amount due on delivery - $1,516 for 1st month pmt, acq fee, dmv fee, doc fee

How did I do? I know i posted earlier that I thought around $450, well off course the dealer wasn't straightforward initially so when we started our price discussion today it was at $500, so I was able to get it down ~$35 per month.

Any feedback on if this was a good deal would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi CarMan,

I am looking to trade in my 09 Audi A3 for an IS 250. Here are the specifics:

-Currently quoted by a Lexus dealer $16000 for my Audi.
-I owe $9500 on the Audi.
    -IS250 sticker price is $40,818
-IS250 has been quoted to me for $312/month tax fees included with $5000 down(my trade basically)
    -15,000 mileage allotment
-IS250 options include Bi-xenon lights, navigation pkg, accessories pkg, premium value pkg, 18in summer tires

What do you think about this deal?
  • greeneyespsugreeneyespsu Member Posts: 139
Can you please post what the sticker and SELLING price of the vehicle are? The payments are not really helpful because a lot of other factors come into play (MF, etc). It also doesn't help the other members trying to get a comparible deal if you don't give the selling price and sticker price. Thanks!
  • crazydeocrazydeo Member Posts: 44
Sorry about that. The sticker price is $40818. Waiting for the actual breakdown and then I can update that later.
  • CarMan@EdmundsCarMan@Edmunds Member Posts: 38,514
Hi crazydeo. There's nothing wrong with trading in your current vehicle when leasing a new one, however it is in your best interest to have the dealer cut you a check for any equity that you have in it rather than use the proceeds as a down payment on your new lease. Consumers who make large down payments on leased vehicles risk losing part or all of the money that they put down if their vehicle is totaled in an accident or stolen and never recovered. It is much safer to go with a zero down lease.

Also, you really should find out the selling price of the new IS that you want. The selling prices of leased vehicles are negotiable, just as if you were paying cash for or financing them. Without this number is is much more difficult to tell how large a discount you are being given and in turn if there is any room left to negotiate.

I just got an email offer from my Local Lexus dealed on an IS250 for $369 plus tax for 36/months and 10K miles. Listed as .25 for excess miles and end of lease fee $350. Is this a decent deal? I may take a look at this car in the next few days. This is for 720 A tier credit which I have. I have never leased a LExus. I hate end of lease disp fees, but the deal looks good at least on the surface.

that is a good deal.......it is unlikely you will not have to put any $ down....there is always some type of fee......also is this a base model or AWD fully loaded......there is a significant price difference b/t the two....good luck....
  • andy162andy162 Member Posts: 3
you did not mention if this was an AWD model, or fully loaded......this will change the lease price....a fully loaded AWD runs 41k......a base model is much cheaper.....
  • andy162andy162 Member Posts: 3
thats a good deal......remember sales tax alone is almost $1000......
  • greeneyespsugreeneyespsu Member Posts: 139
I totally disagree with the previous poster. I don't think this is a good deal. First, you didn't give enough info to tell if it's a good deal (options, STICKER PRICE, selling price, etc). Second, you didn't actually say no money down or if you were trading, etc. to lower the principle. Based on my assumption (given your lack of information) that you are talking about a base model, this is NOT a good deal. For roughly $10 more than what you're being offered, I leased a 2009 (when it was new, my lease is up next week) IS 250 RWD with premium package, navi/backup cam, preferred accessories package, and 18" wheels on 12K miles a year and NOTHING down. You could do far better. I suggest going through costcoauto.com if you have a costco membership. When I was about to lease my car the costco negotiated price on the IS was $750 over invoice. That'll get you lower than your deal already.

Hi Carhelp88- Can you help me. I am looking to lease the same car as you and hopefully get the same deal. Can you send me any kind of quote you might have gotten, or something that I can take to a local dealership to help me. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
  • robertw477robertw477 Member Posts: 188
A few things. This is a base model with whatever equipment it includes. I am in Flordia AWD is not needed ever. I dont care what the price of the car is (for the most part) because if I compare base model lease to base lease that is all that matters to me. I never do anything but sign and drive leases. This one is $369 First payment down, ($900 total) The COSTCO deals have never been anything for me and I have tried several times. I can always beat their deals. I call them up and they usually get cagey about price trying to get me in the dealership. Then they give me the price which I have always beaten often by a good mark. While you got a good deal in 09, lets see what they offer now because with leasing things change over time. Sometimes a company will push big incentives to get volume. I try to stay unemotional and am always prepared to switch a brand if needed. Never did anythign with Lexus. Been mostly with Honda, Acura, and Audi. Honda/Acura is the best leasing company. Also I got my first NAV 10 yrs ago (I think) when nobody had it. I am terrible about directions and it can come in handy. NAV factory installed never took off. In fact the disks are always outdated even brand new out the door. With smartphones and super cheap NAVs stand alone I dont want to pay more for a NAV system.

Looking to lease a lexus IS250 RWD, base model.

It seems like Lexus has a promotion of $299 / month with $4000 down ($3000 if you are a previous lexus customer - which I am not).

What would be a good monthly price for me if I am looking to do a 36 month lease, 10K miles, say $1000 down for their most basic IS250 RWD AT.

Sales tax is 7%. I should have a 750+ credit score. Please let me know if there is some information that I have not included that might be relevant to help come up with a monthly lease payment. Do I care what the residual value is or is it standard?

    Thanks for all your help!
