this must be an fca thing. years ago i had a tow hitch and harness installed on a 2005 Grand Cherokee. forums warned me in advance about dealer rates; found one to install it for $350 (i had bought the OE parts). i waited for three hrs before taking the shuttle home. they had it for two days... and i still had to bring it back because the harness didn't have power or wasn't "initialized". thankfully they honored the quote but SA told me he had made a mistake. i had them do a transmission flush service since i felt so bad and it was right around 100k miles.

but, the reason i took it to them was because of how complicated it was. absurd...
