2008 Impala SS--Electrical Issues

So I just changed the battery in my 08 SS 5.3L with 143000 miles. I get the car running with no problems and now the car barely moves in Drive or any forward gear. Works fine in reverse. Also the engine light is on and that's new. Anyone experience this??
