My 06 Lincoln LS is running hot

I started my car today and everything was fine I drove for about 20min when I saw steam coming from under the hood. Soon after my tempature gauge went to hot and my oil light popped on. The engine reduced power and the car began to slow down. What could be causing this problem. It doesn’t smell like oil is burning at all
