Electronic Power Steering

For about a month now the power steering has been chiming at me on the radio display. I have felt no difference in my steering though. I did check my VIN to see if it was in the recall for the EPS and it's not. I'm wondering what could be causing this. I haven't lost any power to steering yet, so could it just be a censor or perhaps power fluctuations? You'll have to pardon my ignorance on this issue. I've never had a car with EPS before and I also don't know a ton about cars but I'm trying to learn.
