Amazon prices for an oil change:

Oil $58.85 (tax included, free shipping)
Filter: $17.79 (no tax, free shipping)

    In case anyone was curious.

Exactly. Apart from the search, this is probably the easiest driveway DIY oil change I've done. Amazon Prime FTW!

I was about to remark on the impressive fuel economy from the 3.6 V6 and how my 4.0 V6 4Runner never achieves 24mpg. I then remembered this was the diesel, and while that's probably a marked improvement over the gas engine it's worse than the bigger Ram 1500. $3500 upcharge, DEF, difficulty finding oil in a pinch, and slow acceleration. Diesels still seem to be the province of heavy towing--there's a lot of expensive tradeoffs for casual use.

Dan, thanks for the thorough updates. Your posts are last vestiges of the enthusiast side of the Edmunds juggernaut and the only reason I keep checking into the long-term roadtests page.
