T case & tranny

I have a 98 4wd pathfinder and I drove to spot, parked it and changed the t case. Now when I put it into gear it grinds loudly but not in park or neutral. Also it won't move. When I hit the gas it nudges but will not move. At Whits end please help!

I'm not sure I'm following you.
You changed the transfer case?

Do you mean you installed a new transfer case or changed the gear on it?
The grinding is quite possibly the chain. It may have broken or stripped the gears.
Hard to say without being there.
