GMC Jimmy 4WD Problems

I have a 99 gmc Jimmy 4dr sle. My service 4wheel light is stuck on and it is stuck on auto 4by4. Not sure if 4by4 is working. My mechanic checked electrical switch and said that wasn't the problem. Can't figure it out.

I was having problems with my  service 4wd light staying on in my 2000 sierra. The light was on but all the 4wd modes worked fine but the light stayed on. Several local shops looked at codes and gave different versions of what they thought the problem was. Eventually while using the 4wd one day it became stuck in 4hi. I changed the switch. No help. Changed the motor on the front diff.  No help. Finally the most expensive of the components was the motor on the t/c. This fixed my issue and close to 4k miles layer no problems. Hope this helps

My 2000 Jimmy I was driving it like normal then out of no where there was a loud bang noise and so I veared off the road and put it in park where the noise stopped ,I tried to shift it back in to gear where the noise began again but it would not move forward or in reverse. I noticed that there was the smell of gear oil and looked like there was fluid leaking from the back and from the front what could this possibly be and is it a easy fix?
