Bluetooth in 2008 accord??

I just purchased a used 2008 accord exl. It doesnt have navigation but where the sunglasses holder usually goes, there are buttons for bluetooth (no buttons on steering wheel). It comes on and im able to do part of the setup for it, but when i scan for bluetooth connections on my phone, nothing shows up. I know its not my phone (galaxy note 8) since i have other bluetooth connections that work fine. Anyone know what i should/can do??
