wont shift

i did a motor swap on my 95 chevy pickup took a 5.7 out put exact same motor back now trans wont shift into 3 or 4 shifted just fine before motor swap replaced all shift solenoidshas anyone had this problem if so all help is appreciated

    Maybe the torque converter is not locked into the transmission fluid pump.
