No Turbo for the 2019 Forester

Only engine available will be the 2.5 with 12 more HP. This is bad news. I have a 2017 XT Turbo and it is a wonder full engine. Quick, smooth and overall good gas mileage. Can't understand why Subaru has made this decision. The 2.5 will be peppier than before but a long way from the 250 HP Turbo.

I thought they'd go to all turbo engines like most other manufacturers. I figured they'd keep the XT and put a smaller turbo motor in the other trims.

Fine with me, less cost and maintenance etc will still go from point A to Z

Also, no manual transmission available. All models are CVT only.

    Here's why:

"According to Subaru, only 5 percent of Forester shoppers opted for the more powerful, sportier Forester XT, with the other 95 percent supposedly finding the Subie’s 170-hp, 174-lb-ft 2.5-liter flat-four more than adequate."

The customer take has been rather low, but I still think it is a wrong decision. I had a turbo Escape before my present Forester and although I prefer my Forester over the present Escape, the lack of the turbo just might make me seek out other SUVs when trade time comes again. I really enjoy the turbo pep.
