Adaptive Cruise Control Following Distance on 2018 Tiguan

Hello
Is anyone here disappointed with their Adaptice cruise control's following distance? i has passat before this and its follow distance was spot on. If i set it two cars length, it would keep it perfectly
However the tiguan when set to to two cars length, keeps way futher back even when taking into account its weight and this encourages people to cut it front of me and making the car break. This has been frustrating me, has anyone had simillar experiences or is this a possible issue with my system?
Also on my passat , it would remember my last setting for following distance even when i switched off the car. The tiguan how ever rests to 3 car distance when i turn the car off and on.
Anyone have simillar issues?
