In any of the tests you've done with the F150/ecoboost combo have you ever just gone on a road trip (no hauling heavy items, no towing) to see what the truck does if driven like a family car on a trip? I have an older 5.4 F150 and I usually get 18-19 mpg on the freeway without towing or hauling. My truck is about 10 years old now and while I've had no problems at all, it's getting to the age where things start happening and I'm looking for a new truck. If the ecoboosts are all about performance rather than economy, though, I probably just would go for a 5.0.
