    I could also accept weak acceleration in the name of fantastic fuel economy. But the Impreza delivers fantastic window sticker fuel economy. In the real world, fuel economy is more middle-of-the-pack and for that, it should deliver a little more punch.

    The trunk hinges are mentioned here so I'll add a comment that I've thrown out here before. This is not about the Impreza but about the industry. 10-20 years ago, we saw automakers moving away from gooseneck hinges in favor of more complicated hinge arrangements that freed up trunk space. Cars with gooseneck hinges were regularly criticized by auto journalists and even cars (like this Impreza) that hid goosenecks behind some interior trim received their share of criticism. My question is, what has changed? We are seeing automakers move back to goosenecks and this is true across the industry at at every price point. Why?
