Ticket worth fighting?

I recently got a speeding ticket for doing 69 in a 65 zone but the cop got me with a laser doing 91. I still want to fight the ticket in court for the sake of my driving record and insurance, but I'm worried about the possibility of the penalty rising back to going 91 if the officer provides evidence. Is it possible that the penalty will rise back up to 91? Also, does it mean anything that the cop ripped off the portion of the ticket with his signature before handing it to me? Thanks

So you were doing 91 and got written up for 69? You probably avoided a way more serious charge than speeding, like careless or reckless driving, a bigger fine and more points.

How it's going to affect your insurance is going to depend on factors other than this particular ticket. Your age, history of tickets, whether you currently have points on your license, things like that.

The state you're in can be a factor as well
