manual transmission neutral noise and trying to move forward
I have a 93 Jeep YJ with a manual transmission, when its in neutral it makes a funny noise and seems to still try and go forward a bit. It shifts fine though all the gears but has this noise when in neutral with the clutch out and is trying to move forward but when I press the clutch in the noise goes away and it stops trying to move. I'm not sure what the problem could be, any help would be great.

The most likely cause is a failure of one or more of the bearings in the transmission which would include the needle bearings between the input and main shafts. When you are in neutral with the clutch engaged (pedal released) the input shaft and counter shaft are being driven by the engine. The gears on the main shaft are not locked to it and are spinning freely. A bearing failing could cause enough friction to transfer some torque to the output shaft. When you step on the clutch the input shaft stops spinning with the engine which also stops the counter shaft and all of the gears n the main shaft which is why the noise would go away.
I have a 92 YJ with AT5 transmission . New clutch master kit and clutch master cylinder installed. Creeping in Neutral and binding in reverse. Any suggestions
Your descriptions so far are a bit vague, but since you mentioned clutch system repairs it seems that you may be suggesting that the clutch will not fully release. Is that correct? If not, could you describe the symptom differently?
