like tim says, "run along now".

you own a ford and you have the nerve to say what

you said about chevy? what knowledge do you
possess about either truck to make such a
    statement?

Sorry. Didn't mean to speak above your average IQ. "this whole topic does'nt make since."
You seem to be doing well for a 5th grade education. I never knew one spelled "sense" that way. Is that how they spell it down in and around the Arkansas river way?

I think they have been making you do too much pig squealing in the back wood country. Maybe they just skull screwed you and you lost what little brain matter you had left.

Like I have said before, loser, anytime you care to meet up in person, lets see how much trash you talk. Talk is cheap behind a computer. You probably weigh 100 lbs soaking wet so you have to talk like a punk on a bulletin board to feel like somebody.

    LOOOOOSER!

I am confused since I post #11. My reference was to ZBAD71 which you had told me directly (several times in fact)was NOT you no matter any similarities in writing style. Has anything happened to cause this to change? I don't understand as I referenced ZBAD71 to Dodge20/Ford30 as to why it would insult you. Unless of course you are one of the three...ZBAD71, Dodge20, or Ford30.....

called Chevy vs. Dodge...didn't make any sense at all. Who compares with dodge...not even the Tundra guys.

A friend of mine just bought a '00 Dodge full size cargo van. I asked him what exactly was he going to do with it and he told me that it was for catering parties. I asked why do you have that single door in the rear...makes it look like an oversized hearse. not to mention difficulties opening with people parked behind or in a parking lot where cars will pass behind. He thought about it and said,"as long as it opens who cares". Yeah right just wait till that old lady passes by and takes the door right off the van. Dodge...should have quit after the Viper...

I still can't understand BLD4's reaction to my post regarding ZBAD71. It's almost like...well you know.

The orig. poster thinks that Dodge is #1, Why do you think so? I have a 97 w/188K and a diesel, I know why I like mine, but my first two w/gas engs. were junk. And don't give some lame answer that the Chevs have rattels, could have ben the one you drove but not all. Don't get me wrong I am a Dodge man, but I have reasoning for it,and it's not because it doesn't rattle and squeek either.
  • RoclesRocles Member Posts: 982
The original poster doesn't own a truck. Hell, he's probably still 12.

Hey....who brought up ZBAD? That's equivalent to typing curse words around here...

not only is ford30 and dodge20 the same moron but
him taullks leeike hiself toooo. this topic is
getting better and better. sorta wonder though,
if budlitedude4, or 5, or 6 is still around.

good friend of mine saw this page and gets a big
kick out of it. BTW his uncle has a '99 dodge
ext. cab and has had good luck with it. however
though, there does seem to be an issue with the
use of oil. wonder if this is why dodge is
getting such a bad rap. oh yeah, the one thing i
did like about was that it's RED.

You know that if you are over 12 and have experiance with trucks you should answer when someone asks a question to defend your self, now if you are just a kid (everyone thinks you are including my self)get off of this topic and go suck on a lolly pop.

    FRESH MEAT!

I owned a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 Extended Cab Short Bed 4 x 4 up until 22 April 2000 and did not have a single problem with the truck. I drove it all over the southern US and through parts of Europe also. The engine, transmission, transfer case, and frame held up well. Paint seemed as though it chipped easily and had to have the front end painted while in Germany. Interior was well laid out, but the cloth seats did wear more quickly then I would have liked.

I purchased a Chevrolet Silverado 2500 LT Extended Cab Short Bed 4 x 4 with all the buttons and whistles. Real nice truck, good power, interior is the MOST comfortable I have ever owned and finish is good. I am disappointed that I did not get a full-floating rear axle (10.5 R&P) in the truck. I ordered everything HD and got a semi-floating 14-bolt rear axle (9.5 R&P). I am disappointed in that and think that GM shorted us 2500 owners.

Compare the two trucks and you have two trucks, which appear to be built for two completely different purposes. The Dodge is a big strong brut and built for abuse, the Chevy is a “Cowboy Cadillac” built for medium duty work. The interior is better in the Chevy as is the paint on the exterior. Take a Dodge frame and drivetrain and set either a Ford SD body or Chevy Silverado body on it and you would have a killer truck!

Having owned 2 Dodge’s, 2 Chevy’s and 2 Jeep’s, I will keep my “Cowboy Cadillac” for a few years and then buy a Dodge Ram 2500 Extended Cab Short Bed 4 x 4 with a CUMMINS engine and a 6-speed!

Why do all the people in this room back off the kid. Which is ford30 & dodge20 he may just trying to learn something about trucks. Well he does not have to learn much if he knows dodge has the best truck on the road now.
  • RoclesRocles Member Posts: 982
    dodge50,

What are you? The kid's dad? LOL! "Whaaa..back off the kid...." ? Why? He's spouting off on trucks without ever going into detail and using TWO different names. If he actually wanted to learn then he would stick with ONE name and ask questions as opposed to simply slamming GM.

    red,
I hear you....is bud-8 around the corner? Reminds me of Jason in that movie series...
  • redsilveradoredsilverado Member Posts: 1,000
is this page a joke or what. ever notice how
dodge guys all talk alike; "he may just trying to

    learn something"

is it me or do dodge guys just leave words out of

their sentences. sorta the way dodge left out the

quality that should be built into their product.

Dodge has its problems along with ford and GM. Reading around the various topics here at Edmunds I would say that the silverados are breaking records with consumer dissatisfaction. The silverado seems to have even more problems than even the '94 Ram. Chevy needs about two more years before thier quality issues settle down enough to seriously cosider them. A lot of good ideas that just aren't put together well - yet.
  • swobigswobig Member Posts: 634
with no problem - and I could point to many others that are very satisfied. Sure, everyone makes a few lemons, so what's your point? Don't think this model has had any more or less problem than Ford, Toyota or Dodge...
  • jcmdiejcmdie Member Posts: 594
A lot of the posts on these boards are complaints. People seem to be moved (to post) more quickly to complain about defects than to praise the product. All I'm saying is that it seems to me that there is a disproportionate amount of complaints about the Silverado. It's just my observation.
  • robert1972robert1972 Member Posts: 51
What you say makes no sense at all! You own a chev so natrually they are the best, I own a dodge natrually they are the best and the people that own fords think they are the best. My point is that there is a (I'll use the word)butt for every seat, most people buy what they like. The fact is that I used to be a chevy man and I had alot of problems with them, now I use ford and dodges in my fleet, but I prefer the dodge as my personal truck.Another thing to remember is that ford is and has ben the #1 selling truck for so many years, the chev and dodge arn't even close in sales figures, so shouldn't that say somthing for what should be the best truck on the market.?

HEY ROCLES WE ARE NOT SLAMMING GM IT'S JUST THE FACT THERE TRUCKS ARE JUNK. IT LOOKS LIKE THEY ARE HAVING ALOT OF PROBLEMS WITH QUALITY
  • swobigswobig Member Posts: 634
Ford does not outsell GM trucks by a lot. It's pretty close and besides who the hell cares? GM sells more vehicles than Ford so does that make GM better? Your argument on sales numbers does not make sense. Quality of my truck is just fine, I know some who have had some problems, but Ford doesn't? Give me a break...
  • davids1davids1 Member Posts: 411
DODGE50's latest post should have been three sentences.
  • laramiesltlaramieslt Member Posts: 10
If someone were to come up to me and say "I am going to give you a new a truck" I sure would not argue with him that that the truck is junk no matter what brand it was. As far as quality is concerned all three makes are about equal it all comes down to preference (I drive a Dodge because I want to but would take a ford or chevy). If you pay $30,000+ for a truck it better be good quality, if they weren't trucks wouldn't be the best selling vehicles.
  • RoclesRocles Member Posts: 982
    Dodge50,

You wouldn't happen to be dodge20 or Ford30, eh? Hmmmmm

Yes, GM is having some problems but not anywhere outside the normal first-year jitters.
  • swobigswobig Member Posts: 634
instead of my trucks better than yours. I'm looking forward to the 2002 Ram. Seen some pictures that look pretty radical, and the new hemi engine sounds good...
  • robert1972robert1972 Member Posts: 51
I didn't say ford doesn't have problems, they all do, and as for the sales figures you say that ford doesn't out sell chev by much, last time I read I thought it was around 200,000 + a year compared to the chev. You may not think so but I say thats quite a bit.Keep in mind I am a dodge man moreso than ford or chev I have had all three and I have had the best luck with the ford (gas Eng.)But I prefer the looks of the dodge, and the cummins eng that ford and chev can't even come close for reliability, that is until the Isuzu diesel comes out next year, then maybe the chev will surpass the other two and finally get into the diesel market once and for all.
    R.....
  • swobigswobig Member Posts: 634
pickuptruck.com usually has year to date number and Ford is ahead of GM by 15,000? Big deal, like I said GM sells more vehicles than Ford, but who cares?? I've had all 3 also, probably many more than some will ever own and they all have their problems. Had tranny trouble with Dodge, Ford's that fell apart, and Chevy's that were junk. Reliability is all in who takes care of the vehicle. Just cause it says Ford doesn't mean it will last. All manufactures have improved quality and today's vehicles will last longer than yesterday's. Tommorrow's vehicles will last even longer - quality is more the person taking care of the truck or lack of care...
  • swobigswobig Member Posts: 634
base their opinion on one vehicle or truck. I've had about 10 Fords, 10-15 Chevy's, and 5-10 Dodge's and their all decent if you maintain them. I happen to think Chevy has the best 1/2 ton gas truck and Ford has the best 3/4 ton diesel right now, but things change over time. My next truck may be a Dodge (2002) if they live up to their expatations...
