Problems with exterior lighting

I recently bought this 1988 Chevy S10 (standard can, pickup). I finally got it to fire up and would like to start driving it (it's my only vehicle) but I'm having trouble work the turn signals and rear lighting.

With the headlights off, the turn signals on the front work just fine (although the right side seems dull).

In the back, both turn signals are very dimly lit (I had to remove the light from the cover to tell that it was working at all). The right signal will work independently but both will flash when I use the left signal. The brake lights work. I need to reconnect the broken wires for the tag lights to see if they work.

I can hear clicking when I use the signal.

However, with the headlights on, none of the lights in the back work, the turn signals on the front do not work, I cannot hear clicking when I use the turn signal, and the green arrow pointing right on the dash illuminates.

I've never done electrical so I'm honestly at a complete loss as to what could be the problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
