SOUND FROM THE ENGINE

please am having an issue with my car TOYOTA MATRIX, if increase the speed of my car, l will begin to get some sound like something craking. please can any body help me with a solution.

    What year is your Matrix? By "increase the speed" do you mean the car simply going faster, or higher engine revs? Does the "cracking" noise sound like it's coming from inside the engine? Could be valve noise, pulleys, belts, depending on how the noise sounds.
