Are you a current or recent car shopper who bought an EV and then installed solar – or who had solar already, making the decision to go electric easier?
OR
Are you a recent EV buyer (past 3 months) as a result of manufacturer incentives and dealer discounts on these vehicles, including year-end deals? Were you convinced to buy an EV after finding a good end-of-year deal, or due to uncertainty around which EVs will no longer qualify for full/partial EV tax credits in 2024? Weird Issue / Battery "drain" ...Passlock system?

I have a 2012 Canyon that I purchased a year ago, used. I LOVED it. Until it began not starting at odd times out of the blue. Happened once, then a month later again...jump starting it worked. So, cold winter in NY is coming, so I bought a new battery, since the one in it came with the used vehicle purchase. I bought an AGM battery, paid top price because I didn't want to worry about it. After a month of driving it no problem, it began not starting again at random times, like every other time. Now it won't start without a jump AT ALL. I had a smart charger hooked up to it, and it shows 99-100% charge, so I know it's not the battery. Turn the key, the dash lights all come on, try to start it, it doesn't even turn over...then acts like the battery is totally dead. A couple times I heard a whirring/buzzing type noise coming from the dash. Searching high and low on the internet, I come across this YouTube video, guy shows a "Quick 9 second start" trick (turning key on, door open, count dings, etc). What do you know, it worked! Is this that stupid Passlock system making my life miserable?
