recurring alternator problems

Our 2014 Honda CRV has had to have THREE alternators replaced already (and three new batteries). The starter also just went bad and had to be replaced. Now, just two months after the last alternator replacement, my Verizon Hum device that constantly reads the computer system of our Honda sent me an email alert stating: "The status of your vehicle's alternator is not within normal operating requirements". Any clue as to why the alternators keep failing?
