2007 Jeep Liberty Stalling out

This is the first winter we have had this vehicle. We had to replace the battery last month. Likely not related but since then the vehicle will start up but then stall, and do this over and over. When i keep the gas pedal going and rev it it will work or we were also told to just turn over the key (to get the pumps, lights, etc going) but not start it a few times and then start it that seems to work too. The throttle body was cleaned and no one seems to be sure what is going on. Any thoughts? We would like to get this fixed.
