Electrical Problem! Auxiliary power staying on after opening door

I have a 2007 gmc canyon with a electrical problem that ive been dealing with for about 2 years now

The problem i'm having, is that when i shut the vehicle off and take the key out of the ignition and open my drivers side door all the power stays on

I don't get any door chimes or lights, even when the vehicle running it cant tell if the door is open or closed. I don't have this problem with my passenger door at all it works perfectly fine the lights come on and the aux power shuts off.

First thing i thought of to check was the button on the bottom of the door, so what i did was swapped the passenger door button for the drivers side and that also didn't fix the issue. so i figure the button is working and is not the issue and what i'm wondering is if could be just the wiring in the door or maybe some sort of fuse.

If someone has had close to the same issue or just has knowledge about electrical issues your input would be appreciated.

I would suspect a broken wire from the door switch that tells the body control module that the door has been opened OR a bad body control module.

I do not know if the body control module has to be programmed to the car and its VIN or not. So don't know if you can get one from a new source or recycling yard.

Would need a wiring diagram to figure the wires from the door to the BCM.

This is a problem that begs for a good shop with a Tech II to read what's happening in the computers. It will save a lot of troubleshooting and wrong parts.
