Buy, Sell, and what about the Transmission?

I have a 2004 Dodge Neon. Bought in 2014. In 2015, I had a rebuilt transmission put in. So now I am thinking about whether to sell it for another used car. But there's one thing. I could be buying another person's headaches and I don't want to do that. So here is my question. Should I keep the car I already know and put the money I was going to use to buy another car....into the car I have to repair it? And how long does a rebuilt transmission last?
