Speedometer stopped working

A few days ago my speedometer stopped working. I see no lights lit on the center area where the gear selection and mileage is displayed. Any ideas to repair? Is there a fuse for this?

    The first thing to check would be the connections that supply the power and info lines to the cluster.
    Having more than one thing wrong indicates the problem is there. Have someone pull the cluster and clean and reestablish the connections. Then diagnose carefully from there if that doesn't fix the problem.

    Don't forget to check also the connection on the trans.

    I know with that vintage of GMC, they are somewhat prone to lights and the motors controlling the needles going bad. My buddy had his dash repaired with instrumentclusterstore.com and he said it was a quick turnaround.
