Timing belt done, now Cruise won't work.

Would the mechanic have touched the Cruise control on a 2000 Accord to get a timing belt job done? Two weeks after, getting the belts done, and trans fluid and radiator fluid done, the heat exchange radiator hose broke. Coincidence?
