Intermittent accelerating and deaccelerating or cutting in and out while driving

I have a 2013 Nissan Versa, while driving some 30 miles or so the car will cut in and out, then return to normal operating speed. It dose' stall or shut off yet but this my become possible right? What are the possible causes of this and is something I can repair myself? Your help and insight is most appreciated Thank You.
