is MY SHOCKS GOING TO PASS INSPECTION

at a mom and pop shop , a new kid just pulls in with my car across the street and tells the owner this car needs shocks, with only 59,000 miles its ride is beautiful and handle like its on rails , no bounce smooth,. Do you think the kid from high school was trying to impress the boss there and get money out of me for new shocks , , the Boss said something to the kid an my car passed , whats up ,what if the boss agreed and they bother were wrong would I have to eat it or go somewhere else with a temp sticker on it? ?
