Stability tracking problem

Coming home from church today, I ran into this issue of my stability tracking light coming on along with my check engine light and no power. Luckily I was stopped at a red light when this happened. Several gentlemen helped me push my car to a safe place. I opened the owners manual where it suggested turning engine off for 15 seconds then restarting. I was able to get my car moving again, but the check engine light is still on. This is a used vehicle which I have only owned for not quite 2 years. Have not had any issues at all till now with the exception of the steering wheel sounding a little squeeky. Any other issues like this? I can’t afford expensive repair bills and this is my only car.
